Fay and Jonathan married in December 2021, with their ceremony taking place at St. Olaves Church, York followed by a reception at The Grand Hotel in their stunning The Rise restaurant.
The floral design for Fay and Jonathan was based around a mixed foliage theme with small touches of white flowers in the bridal bouquet and buttonholes.
Bridal Bouquet
The bridal bouquet was created using mixed foliages including eucalyptus, Italian ruscus, conifer and header helix ivy. The crisp white flowers were dahlia and lisianthus, chrysanthemum and astrantia. With the addition of pinecones subtly incorporating the festive theme.
Buttonholes
Small and delicate buttonholes were created using eucalyptus, Italian ruscus, conifer, astrantia and mini pine cones. Perfectly finished with twine around the stems to complete the rustic look of the design.
Church Decoration
The church door was decorated with a large mixed foliage festive wreath. The wreath was created in a traditional style with a moss base and lots of evergreen foliages, this allowed the wreath to be used following the wedding at home by the couple, friends or family who attended the wedding.
The Reception
Guests were welcomed into the reception room at The Grand Hotel by the seating plan decorated with a simple ruscus garland along the top.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere of the dining space was enhanced by the addition with lots of warming candles. With the top table featuring a mix of floating candles, pillar candles in hurricane vases and tea light candles in clear glass votives. Running along the top table was ruscus and eucalyptus which intertwined with the candles, creating a simple yet effective decoration.
The guest tables were similar to the top table with ruscus and eucalyptus running along, this time with tea light glass votives intertwined along.
The final romantic touch was the addition of mistletoe, hung in a large bunch in the entrance of the room. Perfect for the season and so much fun for guests as they arrive.
